On the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Victory, and at all times in the history of Tula the memory of the legendary heroes of the Great Patriotic War, who became the city's defenders, occupies a special place. Almost 50 years ago, in 1968, their memory was immortalized with an installation of the monument, which is located not far from our hotel and courtyard. Monument to the Heroes is located on a large area from which go down the broad stairs. To the eyes of our guests appears a pedestal on which there are figures of Soviet soldier and militia fighter. Their tandem symbolizes the unity and solidarity of the Soviet and Russian people in the struggle against the Nazi invaders.
It is not just a monument to a military prowess but also to the great city, which became the smithy of Russian military glory - not far from the figures of the defenders of Tula there stands an obelisk consisting of three infantry that became a symbol of the weapon which fled those who were trying to gain dominance over the land of Tula, but was unable to do this.
The Eternal flame. From year to year it is burning near the monument as a symbol of gratitude of Tula people to the fallen soldiers and officers. Not so long ago there was a memorial plate installed with the numbers of divisions and regiments, that were fighting to the end for the city of Tula. Run into the Tula theater, being the guest of the “Armenia” hotel, it is worth to to stand here, in the shadow of the monument.
